This works really fast! It takes a lot of experimenting because every flower is different. But it is easy to use and you can produce dried flowers in a matter of seconds instead of weeks and know right away if the flower you have chosen will work in your project or it you have to go out and collect some more.

For years, I've pressed flowers the old fashioned way... in books, in a homemade press, etc. This press, though a bit pricy for what it turns out to be, does a great job preserving leaves and flowers faster than I could have ever done without it. You do have to experiment with it at first to avoid burning or cooking your specimens, but the instructions are very clear about how to do this. The end result is usually more vibrant colors, quick, even drying without brittle leaves (providing you are careful), and finally, a beautiful portrait. For anyone considering what size to get, the bigger one is definitely the one you want. The smaller one just won't hold the number of leaves or flowers you'll want to put in there. In fact, I wish I'd purchased two! One to fill while the other was in the microwave or cooling.

It works great, and it's small (6" high, 5" diameter) and easy to use. May require some experimentation to get times correct for your own microwave. For me: 7 minutes for soft, 8 min for medium, and 9-10 min for hard eggs on high power (700W microwave).

It does get very hot, so you need to remove it from the microwave with a potholder or towel. I place the whole thing under the cold tap, then remove the top, and cool the eggs under running water for a minute before peeling.

I can't boil eggs that come out perfectly, too many variables. But with the Nordic Egg Boiler, I am a happy camper. You have to experiment with the first two attempts to get the times right (your microwave power and time to cook the eggs per the instructions). But once you've got it down, you get "soft boiled eggs, medium boiled eggs, and hard boiled eggs (may I add, they are easy to peel, very easy!)". On my microwave, I set the time on high to 12.30 minutes. Thats it. I walk away. The microwave beeps at me. So what, let them sit there. When I'm ready I take them out of the microwave (use pot holders - it's still hot), and run them in the tray over cold water. Perfect eggs, whether soft boiled, medium, or hard boiled. I did not want a machine that had it's own heating elements, those machines in time, will break down from the moisture created, and this will result in increased cooking times or complete failure of the unit. Quick review: Totally satisfied after 8 months of moderate use. Excellent value.

My wife and I looked at every small (-1 cubic ft) microwave at all prices before choosing this one. We have a very small kitchen in our condo and counter space is at a premium. We've had this unit for 8 months and it has performed flawlessly with daily moderate use. We use it mostly for baked potatoes, leftovers, popcorn, defrosting, etc, so we haven't subjected it to heavy use. Although it's only 700 watts, it gets the job done in a reasonable amount of time (2 medium potatoes in 9 minutes). The black/stainless steel casing and classic styling appealled to us also. Our dinner plates fit on the turntable with just a little room to spare.

At this point, I don't think we could be more satisfied with our purchase ($69.95 at Lowes), especially since we considered models 3X the price. Our previous... Read more

This General Electric microwave works fine as far as cooking things or heating up water; but my menu display has never worked. I can see the menu on the machine; but what the microwave is actually doing does not show up. It is a low powered microwave; so it takes a while to cook with it. I use it daily for cooking food and heating up water for tea or soup.

Underneath the rotating plate rusted as water from boiling water dripped down onto the inside of the microwave. So the plastic or polymer covering came off the bottom; but it works fine still spins around as it works. The light comes on when I open the door more than a year and a half later since I got it. It does not take up much space.

We recently needed to replace our microwave. We chose this smaller, less powerful model and we are only somewhat satisfied. It takes significantly longer than anticipated to defrost, heast frozen items; i.e., frozen vegetables. We do not use our microwave for significant cooking tasks so we thought for the price this would be a good fit. It is okay.
