We have used our screen on a daily basis for seven months and it still looks brand new! The microwave screen has several great advantages already mentioned in previous reviews, but the advantage I appreciate most is that my microwave has a reheat function that seems to measures the steam/heat from the food to determine length of the reheat cycle. With this open mesh screen, I have had less overcooked, tough food incidents as well as no spatter! My microwave always stays clean and all you need to do it hook it on the side of your microwave or fridge with a magnet hook.
